This doesn't need to be awkward...
- Only members of the same species can be mates. They also must be of the opposite sex.
This basically means that a mountain lion and a wolf can't be together. Do I need to explain this more...?
- You can find a mate anytime, but only mate during mating season.
This way, all the offspring is about the same age, and it's just way less confusing.
- Mating and Birthing scenes are allowed.
That being said, don't go crazy overboard with it. Keep it PG13 or 7/10
- Females can be calmed, but not against their will (unless it's part of the plot)
It's only like this because that's the way it works out there. Ladies, your welcome to fight for your freedom, but you run the risk of death, and making enemies.
- Polygamy is allowed.
